Description: The purpose of this article is to provide a detailed overview of the FXS Ports configuration tab, which is accessible for all devices eligible for provisioning within the Advance Provisioner App.
The Advance Provisioner App serves as the primary digital workspace for configuring advanced settings on provisioned devices. For every device from any manufacturer, there is a roster of configuration tabs, each containing different parameters. Once you have added a new device, you will have the opportunity to customize a distinct set of configuration tabs tailored to that specific device.
In all the tabs, parameters can be classified into two types:
- those that require manual input of values.
- those that provide a dropdown list of options.
Certain fields may initially contain pre-filled values inherited from server and account settings. These inherited values may vary depending on the specific server and account configurations.
Within this article, we will examine the FXS Ports configuration tab and its parameters available for customization.
FXS Ports Configuration Tab
When adding a new device or configuring an existing one, the Lines configuration tab will be the initial default view.
To navigate to the FXS Ports configuration tab, click on its name in the configuration tab roster.
The Foreign Exchange Station (FXS) is an analog connection on various telecommunication devices like phones or VoIP gateways. It serves to link the device to traditional telephone services, such as analog phones, fax machines, and older voice-mail systems. An FXS interface establishes a link between the access server or router and end-user devices, including telephones, modems, and fax machines. This interface provides essential features like ringing, voltage, and dial tone to the connected station. It is equipped with an RJ-11 connector, suitable for standard telephone equipment, keysets, and PBXs.
When you open the selected tab, you will encounter the table of FXS ports. For each FXS port listed, you can configure its parameters.
The number of FXS ports may differ depending on the device. By pressing the pencil badge on a particular record in this table, you can configure the parameters of the selected FXS port.
The parameters within the following sections are set up individually for each Port. Currently, there is no possibility to copy the settings of one Port to another.
The parameters available for configuration for the selected FXS port are packed in a single subtab:
- Port: within this section, you can set the call information display method when the configured device receives an incoming call, initiates an ongoing call, or participates in a call.
There are five parameters that need to be configured here:
