Description: The purpose of this article is to provide a detailed overview of the Dialnow and Replace Rules configuration tab, which is accessible for all devices eligible for provisioning within the Advance Provisioner App.
The Advance Provisioner App serves as the primary digital workspace for configuring advanced settings on provisioned devices. For every device from any manufacturer, there is a roster of configuration tabs, each containing different parameters. Once you have added a new device, you will have the opportunity to customize a distinct set of configuration tabs tailored to that specific device.
In all the tabs, parameters can be classified into two types:
- those that require manual input of values.
- those that provide a dropdown list of options.
Certain fields may initially contain pre-filled values inherited from server and account settings. These inherited values may vary depending on the specific server and account configurations.
Within this article, we will examine the Dialnow and Replace Rules configuration tab and its parameters available for customization.
Dialnow and Replace Rules Configuration Tab
When adding a new device or configuring an existing one, the Lines configuration tab will be the initial
default view.
To navigate to the Dialnow and Replace Rules configuration tab, click on its name in the configuration tab roster.
When you open the selected tab, you will encounter the table of Dialnow and Replace Rules. For each rule, you can configure its parameters.
The parameters within the following sections are set up individually for each Rule. Currently, there is no possibility to copy the settings of one Rule to another.
The number of Dialnow and Replace Rules may differ depending on the device. By pressing the pencil badge on a particular record in this table, you can configure the parameters of the selected Dialnow and Replace Rule.
The parameters listed on this tab can be categorized into two distinct subtabs:
- Dialnow: within this section, you can set the call information display method when the configured device receives an incoming call, initiates an ongoing call, or participates in a call.
The Dialnow feature found in multi-line phone devices allows users to press a preassigned button or key sequence to either access a dedicated line or swiftly dial a specific number, all without the need to navigate menus or interact with the device's display. This capability is especially advantageous in situations requiring swift call placement, like emergencies or when contacting frequently used numbers.
There are two parameters that need to be configured here:
- Rule: here, you can input a single key or a sequence of keys that will be dialed when you press them.
- Lines: within this field, you can list lines, separated by commas, that will be affected by the Rule set in the previous field.
- Replace: within this section, you can set the prefix replacement rules for specific lines of the configured device.
In various applications and settings, using prefixes is a common method for differentiating or categorizing items, creating unique identifiers, or specifying the origin or purpose of the modified data.
There are three parameters that need to be configured here:
- Prefix: here, you can input a single key or a sequence of keys that will be replaced.
- Replacement: in this field, you can input a single key or a sequence of keys that will replace the value you provided in the previous field.
- Lines: within this field, you can list lines, separated by commas, that will be affected by the replacement parameters set in this section.
Make sure to press the "Save" button to apply all the changes you have made to the parameters.
