The Faxes Section. The SMTP Tab

Modified on Fri, Jun 16, 2023 at 1:40 PM

Description: The main purpose of this section is to reconfigure the SMTP  parameters of the Fax Boxes that are currently set up.

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is a protocol used for sending and receiving fax messages over email. When a fax message is sent from a fax machine or virtual fax box, it is converted into a digital format and sent as an email attachment through SMTP to the recipient's email address.

Here you can reconfigure the SMTP parameters of the Fax Box selected in the Table of Existing Fax Boxes located in the Faxes Section of the Phone System App:

  • SMTP Permission List: this field is used to hold a record of valid email addresses or domains that have provided consent to receive fax messages via email.

  • Custom SMTP Address: here you can change the custom SMTP Address for the configured fax box you set earlier.

  • SMTP Email Address: in this section, you can view the SMTP email address of the configured fax box

This email address is predetermined by the system and cannot be modified.

Once you have changed some parameters, do not forget to click the "SAVE" button to apply the changes.

The Phone System App will display a green badge with an exclamation mark next to any field that has been modified.

The Phone System App will notify you that leaving the page will result in the loss of any unsaved changes.
