Description: The Ooma Enterprise Desktop App offers users a user-friendly interface for chat messaging through the Ooma network. Unlike SMS, the Chat Module is designed for messaging between users within the account, making it more suitable for internal communication.
Upon clicking on the Chat icon located in the Left-Hand Vertical Menu Bar of the Ooma Enterprise Desktop App, the user interface of the Chat Module will be displayed in the Main Space of the app.
The user interface of the Chat Module resembles that of the numerous messaging apps available today.
The user interface of the Chat Module contains three main elements:
- The List of Chats: in this section, you can access a list of ongoing Chats and the "New Chat" button, which creates a new chat upon clicking.
- Search Bar: this interface element offers search functionality, enabling users to search chats using keywords or names.
- The Chat Window for the selected Chat: this section resembles a typical chat interface, and it also permits you to manage all sent multimedia files and upload new ones.
Chats with unread messages will be marked with a notification badge.
Although there may be similarities between them, the Chat Module offers unique advantages over the Messages Module.
- The primary distinction between the Messages and Chat Modules of the Ooma Enterprise Desktop App is that the Messages Module employs GSM networks for SMS/MMS communication, whereas the Chat Module utilizes the internal Ooma network.
- Whenever you receive an unread message, a red circle will appear next to the Chat icon in the Left-Hand Vertical Menu Bar of the Ooma Enterprise Desktop App, serving as an indication.
- Whenever you receive an instant message, it will be displayed as a pop-up message on your operating system.
- You are able to create group chats.
