Overview of the App
The Ooma Enterprise mobile app functions like a business phone, offering features such as a virtual receptionist, extension dialing, conferencing, and call transfers. It also lets you manage voicemails and enables seamless communication. Designed for efficiency, Ooma Enterprise serves as a centralized hub available on both mobile and desktop, keeping teams connected anytime, anywhere.
This user guide focuses on the mobile client and provides detailed instructions on using the Ooma Enterprise mobile app.
Logging In
When you launch the Ooma Enterprise Mobile app, you’ll see the login screen.
Choose the required login method:
- Logging in with your Ooma Enterprise credentials.
- Logging in with an email, which uses SAML SSO.
Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication mechanism that enables users to log in to multiple systems or applications using a single set of login credentials. With SSO, once a user has successfully logged in to one application or system, they are automatically authenticated to other applications or systems within the same SSO environment. This simplifies the login process for users, eliminates the need for multiple sets of credentials, and enhances security. SSO is widely employed in enterprise environments to provide secure and streamlined access to a variety of mission-critical applications and services.
Home Screen
Once logged in, you’ll be taken to the Ooma Enterprise Mobile app’s Home Screen. The Home Screen consists of three sections:
- The bottom navigation menu displaying five shortcuts of the main features and key modules of the app.
- The Recent Calls list serves as a call activity feed, displaying your received, made, and missed calls.
Tapping a call initiates a new call, while selecting the “i” icon opens the contact’s card.
There, you can view the details of the call and the caller, and perform actions like creating a contact (for new contacts), editing or favoriting the contact. Depending on the modules enabled for your account, you can click on the badges near the phone number to initiate a new call or send a message via Team Chat.
- Additional enabled modules shown above the Recent Calls list.
Modules and Features
Since Ooma Enterprise follows a modular approach, the following chapters of this user guide outline the key information about all available modules and features. However, as these topics are too extensive to cover in this document, below is a list of links leading to the corresponding chapters:
