Adding a New Seat. The Devices Tab Overview

Description: The main purpose of this tab is to display a list of devices associated with the configured Seat.  

The Devices Tab consists of two main interface elements:

• The Table of Existing Devices: as the Seat tab is the initial tab that one can access, you get access to the Devices tab only upon completing all the mandatory fields in the Seat tab. Therefore, the Devices tab will feature a line indicating the device linked to that extension number you have entered in the Seat tab.

To add more devices to the Seat, you can click on the "Add Device" button mentioned below and proceed with the steps.

• The action button: this button enables you to add devices of different types to the Seat.

When you click on the "Add Device" button, a dropdown menu containing various device types will be displayed for you to select from. 

If you are not familiar with the given device types, you can refer to this section for a brief description of each type. 
- SIP device: a device that uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to initiate, maintain, and terminate communication sessions over an IP network. 
- Cell phone device: a mobile device that uses cellular technology to make and receive calls. 
- Smartphone device: an advanced mobile device that offers additional features beyond traditional calling and messaging, such as internet access, multimedia, and mobile applications. 
- Soft Phone device: a software application that allows users to make and receive phone calls over the internet using a computer or mobile device. 
- Landline device: a traditional telephone that is connected to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) through a physical wire. 
Fax device: a device that uses telephone lines to send and receive faxes. 
SIP URI device: a device that is identified by a unique SIP Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and is used to initiate and receive voice or video calls over an IP network through the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). 

The form that appears after selecting a device type will differ based on the type of device selected and will contain a different number of parameter sections. The following pivot table illustrates the types of devices and their respective parameter sections.
