OE Biz Desktop App. User Settings Section

Description: he purpose of this internal article is to provide a comprehensive overview of the OE Biz Desktop app’s "User Settings" section.


Upon accessing the OE Biz Desktop app, you will encounter the "User Settings" section, which contains essential information about the user account under which the OE Biz Desktop app is launched and provides access to the app's settings for its primary parameters and feature settings.


This section comprises two main elements.

  • User Button: this interactive element presents the name of the user account along with its assigned extension number

Clicking on this element triggers a drop-up menu to appear, revealing three subsections:

  • Do not disturb: toggling this switch activates the "Do Not Disturb" status.
  • User’s numbers: here, you can find a list of numbers associated with your user account.
  • Log out: by selecting this option, you will log out of the OE Biz Desktop App.


  • The Gear Badge: clicking on this badge will prompt a drop-up menu to appear, featuring a categorized list of feature settings.

There are 10 setting categories here. 


  • Profile settings: selecting this option will redirect you to a page displaying Profile settings, where you can modify only your email and password parameters.

  • Devices’ settings: selecting this option will redirect you to a page displaying a list devices connected to the OE Biz Desktop App.

By clicking on the Plus badge, a new form will appear. By completing this form, you can add a new device.

There are four feelds that you can configure here:

  • Name: within this field, you can set up a custom name for the device you want to connect to the app.
  • Number: here, you should enter the number assigned to the device you want to connect to the app.
  • Require key press to accept call: by enabling this option, you allow the newly connected device to accept calls by pressing a key.
  • Show: within this field, you will find two options  regarding which number will be displayed to the recipient of a call from the configured device.

You can also delete a device from the list by pressing the Trash Bin badge.


  • Voicemail settings: selecting this option will redirect you to a page displaying the settings of your voicemail box.

There are five parameters that you can configure here:

  • Greeting: clicking on this field will prompt a dropdown menu to display four options for greetings.

  • Default Voicemail Greeting: by selecting this option, the pre-set greeting determined by the system will be assigned to your voicemail box.
  • Upload New Greeting: by selecting this option, you will be able to upload an *.mp3 or *.wav file that should be assigned to your voicemail box as its greeting. Upon selecting this option, a pop-up window will appear that you should use for uploading an audio file.

  • Text to Speech Greeting: by selecting this option, you can input a custom greeting text to be spoken by the text-to-speech system employed in the OE Biz Desktop App. Upon selection, a pop-up window will appear for entering the text and selecting a voice option.

  • Record New Greeting: by selecting this option, you can record a custom greeting by receiving an incoming call that will be recorded by the system. Upon selection, a pop-up window will appear for selecting the device that should receive the call. To initiate the call, press the "Call" button.


  • Enable voicemail to email notifications: this is a feature that, when enabled, sends email notifications to your email address whenever a new voicemail message is received in the associated voicemail box. 
  • After email notification: this field will activate once you've selected the "Enable voicemail to email notifications" checkbox. When you click on this field, a dropdown list of options will appear, allowing you to specify the actions for all newly received voicemails after their notifications have been sent.

There are three options to choose from:

  • Keep message status (new): by choosing this option, the status of a received voicemail will not change; it will remain as "new."
  • Mark message as saved (heard): by choosing this option, the status of a received voicemail will change; it will be set as "heard."
  • Delete message: by choosing this option, a received voicemail will be deleted after its notification is sent.
  • Caller ID settings: selecting this option will redirect you to a page displaying the settings of your caller ID, providing the option to enable outgoing caller ID blocking.


  • Integrations: selecting this option will redirect you to a page where you can configure the integration of your personal or work contact list and calendar with the OE Biz Desktop App. To establish a connection, click on the Plus badge.

Upon doing so, a new page will open in your internet browser, redirecting you to a form where you will be prompted to enter your work email.


Following that, you will be prompted to select your email provider which contact list and calendar you wish to integrate into the app.


After selecting your email provider, you will be prompted to input your credentials to complete the integration process.


  • Sounds: selecting this option will redirect you to a page displaying the sound settings of the OE Biz Desktop App.

There are five parameters that you can configure here:

  • Default microphone: clicking on this field will reveal a dropdown list of microphone options from which you can select the default microphone.
  • Default speaker: clicking on this field will reveal a dropdown list of speaker options from which you can select the default speaker.
  • Ringtone for incoming call: clicking on this field will reveal a dropdown list of ringtone options from which you can select one that will be used for incoming calls.
  • Ringtone speaker: clicking on this field will reveal a dropdown list of speaker options from which you can select one that will be used for playing the ringtone upon receiving incoming calls.
  • Ringtone volume: you have two options for configuring the ringtone volume.
  • Use device volume: choosing this option will configure the ringtone volume to depend on the device's volume.
  • Set custom volume: upon selecting this option, a volume scroller will appear, allowing you to set a custom volume level for the ringtone.

  • Call Control settings: selecting this option will redirect you to a page displaying Call Control settings, where you can configure the "Enable call waiting ringtone" parameter. While in an active call, you will hear a ringtone for a new incoming call. When disabled, you will receive visual notification of a new call, but the ringtone will be suppressed.

  • Knowledge base: upon selecting this option, a new page will open in your internet browser, redirecting you to the Ooma Knowledge base where you can search for any information you may need.


  • Contact & Resources: selecting this option will redirect you to a page that displays contact information and a form you can use to report an issue.


  • Vote on next feature: selecting this option will trigger a pop-up window above the app, allowing you to rate your experience with the app and view a list of features suggested by other users for further implementation.


Scroll down within the window to see the full list of suggested features. You can vote up or down on each suggestion by clicking on the up and down arrows next to them.


To submit your own suggestion, click on the Plus badge.


A new form will appear for you to fill out, which will add your suggestion to the list.


Additionally, you can log into the system if you prefer to submit a suggestion from an email address not associated with the account you use to log into the OE Biz Desktop App.
