Description: Here you have the option to configure the SIP parameters of the devices associated with the newly created Seat.
There are two main interface elements in this section:
- The Editing New Device Panel
- The list of parameters
The Editing New Device Panel
This panel contains two action buttons:
- Reboot Device: by clicking on this button, you can reboot the configured device remotely. Upon pressing it, a pop-up window will appear, prompting you to confirm your decision to reboot the device.
- Delete Device: by clicking on this button, you can delete the device that is currently set up. Upon pressing it, a pop-up window will appear, prompting you to confirm your decision to delete the device.
The List of Parameters
Here you can set the SIP parameters of the devices associated with the newly created Seat.
SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol, which is a communication protocol used in phone systems to initiate, modify, and terminate real-time sessions that involve voice, video, messaging, and other types of multimedia communication.
SIP is widely used in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems, which enable phone calls to be made over the internet rather than through traditional phone networks.
The parameters in this section are categorized into two groups:
- Basic parameters
- Realm: SIP realm is a domain or a namespace that identifies a set of users and devices that are registered to a particular SIP server or service provider. The SIP realm plays a crucial role in authenticating and authorizing users to access SIP services.
The system automatically fills out this field upon device creation.
- Invite Format: it refers to the format used for SIP requests that initiate communication sessions between devices present within the given SIP realm. Clicking on this field will display a drop-down menu containing a list of available formats.
- Expire Seconds: this parameter specifies the length of time for which a particular SIP session or registration is valid.
By default, this value is set to 360 seconds.
- Outbound Flags: by setting them, you can define a specific carrier route out of the system.
This link provides examples of how to use the outbound flags.
- Authentication
- Authentication Method: clicking on this field will display a drop-down list of available authentication methods.
Using a password is the primary authentication method set by default.
- Username: this field is designated for setting the username, typically set by the system. However, it can be manually modified to a custom username, if needed.
- Password: this field is designated for setting the password, which is also automatically generated by the system. However, upon selecting this field, the password is revealed, allowing you to modify it if necessary.
- IP Address: If you select "IP" as the authentication method, you will be presented with the "IP address" field instead of the previously mentioned "Username" and "Password" fields. Unlike them, the IP address field is not automatically pre-filled by the system and must be manually entered by the user.
Once you have inputted data into the fields, do not forget to click the "SAVE" button to apply the changes.
The Phone System App will display an icon of an exclamation mark within a green circle next to any fields that have been modified.
The Phone System App will notify you that leaving the page will result in the loss of any unsaved changes.
