Description: The primary objective of this application is to create and manage SIP trunks.

SIP trunking is a telecommunications technology that uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to provide voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and streaming media services. This technology is used by Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs) to deliver telephone services and unified communications to customers who have SIP-based private branch exchange (IP-PBX) and unified communications capabilities.

Setting up a SIP trunk means establishing a connection between a PBX system and an ITSP using the SIP. Setting up a SIP trunk typically involves configuring the necessary parameters, and the SIP Trunking App is precisely designed for this purpose.

By using SIP trunking, businesses can make and receive phone calls via the Internet, providing cost savings and improved flexibility in managing their communication infrastructure compared to traditional telephone lines. By using a single Internet connection, businesses can handle various voice, video, and data channels with SIP trunking, making it a favored option for businesses of all sizes who want to streamline their communication systems.

App Interface Overview

The SIP Trunking App interface consists of three main elements:

  • Table of Existing Trunks: it presents a list of Trunks created under your account.

When first accessing the SIP Trunking App, it is likely that the Table of Existing Trunks will not have any information. To create a new Trunk, click on the "Add Trunk" button. To assign numbers to a Trunk, click on the number located in the "Assigned Numbers" column.

This will direct you to the "Assigned Numbers" page, where you can assign or unassign numbers, as well as move them.

  • Search field: it is used to locate a specific Trunk within the Table of Existing Trunks using its name, assigned numbers, or SIP address.

  • "Add Trunk" button: after clicking this button, a new window will open, allowing you to configure a new Trunk.

Once the new window is open, you will be directed to the Basics tab.
